After spending weeks researching tons of shopping cart options. I have found the most secure, affordable and easy to use to be paypal. Most of the shopping cart services I found although covered most of what an online business would need were very expensive. Some of the fees included: a charge to apply for the shopping cart merchant account, a monthly fee, and numerous different transaction fees. In order to stay profitable, we have to save where we can without sacrificing quality of our services. I have found that paypal’s shopping cart to be not only affordable and extremely easy to use. It covers all the functions that an online company’s shopping cart would require. Once you have signed up for their FREE merchant account (took less than 5 min- time is also money) you can access many merchants tools such as: Accepting credit card payments Manage your paypal payments Invoice customers Send money Shipping and tracking (Pay online for postage and print shipping labels directly from USPS) I have found all of the tools very easy to use. One of the tools covers the entire process of creating “shopping cart” buttons and takes less than 2 minutes. You simply answer a few questions such as item, item number, cost of shipping, etc…then select the “create button now” function, and paypal provides the html code that you just cut and paste onto your web site. |
